SignNow – Online Signatures & Notarizations

The name says it all. SignNow is a web-application that people can use to sign any document, right now. Whether they’re using a PC, a tablet, or a mobile phone, SignNow users can ink their own custom signatures on contracts, forms, and other legally binding documents without ever having to rely on paper or pens.

Enter your email and choose a password to create a free account, then upload any document you wish to sign. SignNow lets you draw, type, or upload an image of your signature, which you can then place onto any document by dragging and dropping it into position. To gather even more signatures on your document, click the “Invite” button. SignNow will email your colleagues or clients a link to the document, which they can then sign from their desktop computers or mobile phones. The documents and contracts that you sign with SignNow are legally binding in the U.S., the European Union, China, India, Canada, and many other countries around the world. They’re also safe and secure when they’re stored privately online.

One feature that sets SignNow apart from its competitors is its notarization option, which people can use to get important documents notarized without ever leaving their homes or offices. SignNow uses webcams to connect users to legal notaries on weekdays, and offers a full refund if users are unsatisfied with their notary for any reason whatsoever.

Practical Uses:

  • Sign real estate contracts online
  • Send out a freelancer agreement to be signed and returned
  • Complete important contracts when you’re not in front of a computer
  • Connect with a notary without leaving your home

Insider Tips:

  • Notaries are available Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. EDT
  • Users can invite multiple signers at the same time
  • Documents cannot be edited once they’ve been signed
  • SignNow works on iPhones and Android devices

What we liked:

  • People can get work done when they’re not in the office
  • Using SignNow can prevent paper waste
  • Salespeople who use e-signatures can get contracts returned in less time
  • Documents are generally more secure when they’re stored online, as compared to a desk drawer or filing cabinet

What we didn’t like:

  • SignNow doesn’t support Excel files
