Forget Emily Post and traditional wedding etiquette. Modern couples are looking for innovative ways to make their weddings stand apart from the masses. Wedivite has introduced a product that may do just that. The web-based application offers couples a way to send free digital and mobile invitations to their wedding guests.
Add up the cost of custom printing and postage, and the average couple is looking at spending thousands of dollars on traditional paper wedding invitations. Skip the hassle and decrease the cost by sending a digital invitation instead. Enter the bride and groom’s names, then some basic information like the wedding location, date, and time. You’re also encouraged to upload a photo for the cover of your invitation. Guests who receive your wedding invitation can do much more than just RSVP. Wedivite allows guests to suggest songs for your wedding party, send you gifts via PayPal, and greet you in a public online guestbook.
One way that Wedivite separates itself from competing online invitation apps is by offering printed QR codes, as well. Couples have the option of having a unique QR code printed on their paper wedding invitations or included in their invitation envelopes. This gives guests who prefer a more traditional invitation the option to still suggest songs and send gifts through Wedivite’s online channel.

We should have read the fine print, wherever that might be, because we were shocked that so much of the cash wedding gifts that were sent to us via Wedivite’s PayPal link had money skimmed off the top. Not just the 3% PayPal takes sometimes. I could have just given friends and family my PayPal email or taken checks like a normal person. I understand that a website may be out to make money, but this should be clear from the start, not a surprise at the end of a wedding. We are pretty peeved about this. We did like your website layout, but I could have made something like this for free, and would have, if I’d know that Wedivite would skim so much money off the top of our PayPal gifts. I would not recommend this site to friends unless the this “cost” of using the site was made clear.
Hello, I’m Ben,Website’s CEO. As I told you before, we don’t “skim” any money. Any fee you might had wa strictly paypal. We do not take part in these transactions. But if you want to smear our product’s name you go ahead and have a great day.
