Remember The Milk – Never Forget Another Task

ss-rememeberthemilk

If you’ve ever written a to-do list on a sticky note and proceeded to lose it shortly thereafter, then Remember The Milk is for you. Remember The Milk makes it easy – and even enjoyable – to manage your daily tasks. You can sign up in seconds and start the process. You can sort tasks by tabs (such as work, home, personal, or school) and assign new tabs if the built-in ones don’t meet your needs. An important feature is the ability to assign priorities to tasks and to sort by those priorities so you can quickly see which tasks are critical. This makes it easy to plan your workload or your day.

Even if you don’t get everything done, you can postpone a task with one click. Looking at the task properties in the right sidebar also make it easy to see how many times you have postponed a particular task. You can also link tasks to particular web pages. Remember The Milk integrates with a wide variety of services and tools to make it easy to manage your tasks wherever you go. It works with GMail, Google Calendar, Twitter, and a wide range of mobile devices, so there’s no excuse for missing an essential task. Even better yet, you can add tasks by simply sending an email to a private address assigned to your list.

Practical Uses

  • Publish a shared family calendar with the tasks and responsibilities assigned to each family member
  • Create a task list for updating your website and link each task to a particular URL
  • Implement David Allen’s wildly popular “Getting Things Done” (GTD) methodology with Remember the Milk’s advanced features and organization capabilities

Insider Tips

  • Assign a location to each task so you can plan to complete tasks that have to be done in the same area
  • Create tags for tasks to help with sorting and searching
  • Get task reminders by email, SMS, or instant message so you never forget another to-do
