Peepnote – Get Organized On Twitter

Take a minute and scroll through a list of the people you follow on Twitter. Do you really know who all those people are, or why you started following certain accounts to begin with? If you’d gotten organized with Peepnote, then this wouldn’t be a problem. The contact management system for Twitter lets people tag, filter, and add notes or contact details for all the people they follow online.

Whether you’re an individual user who wants to stay organized or a corporate user who needs a better way to track business relationships online, the way you get started with Peepnote remains the same: Log in through Twitter and chose between a free or paid Peepnote plan. Depending on what account option you choose, you’ll need to add each of the “peeps” you follow, either manually—with the free plan—or by importing your entire Twitter list directly to Peepnote—with an upgraded account. Once the people you follow have been imported into Peepnote, you can get to work adding personal information and details for each contact. Add basic information such as a phone number, email address, or company to each of your peeps, along with more detailed information like your reason for following the person and any associated notes. The peeps you follow can be tagged, as well, which makes it easier to see groups of related Twitter accounts at a glance.

For business users managing corporate accounts, especially, Peepnote can be a useful tool for managing social media. The application also lets people save their reasons for not following certain users—such as, if a particular user is posting obscene messages—which can be helpful when multiple people are managing a single company account. For individual users and businesses, Peepnote is yet another tool that can ease the burden of maintaining a positive presence online.

Practical Uses:

  • Add in birth date information for all your personal contacts on Twitter
  • Remind yourself why you started following a specific person to begin with
  • Create a list of favorite Twitter users
  • Privately let your coworkers know why you blocked a certain user from a company account

Insider Tips:

  • Tag the people you follow to create groups on Peepnote
  • Unfollow users on Peepnote just like you would on Twitter
  • Upgrade to a paid account to automatically import your Twitter list
  • See the last time a Twitter user mentioned you

What we liked:

  • The Peepnote system works similarly to email contact lists
  • Companies can use Peepnote to make managing social media accounts easier
  • Users can remind themselves why they stopped following a particular person on Twitter, just in case that person tries following them again
  • Twitter users can be broken down into countless categories and groups

What we didn’t like:

  • Twitter’s “Lists” feature already allows people to break down their users into multiple groups
