GovIt – Get Engaged with Politics

GovIt is a nonpartisan website which encourages you to vote on the legislation that matters to you most. Upon creating a free account, GovIt provides easy tools to research political issues and upcoming legislation, and ultimately enable you to cast your “vote” online. And it doesn’t end there. The best GovIt feature is that you can then compare your votes to your friends’ votes—and even more importantly, you can compare your votes to those of your political representatives. (When you sign up, you enter your zip code to get your local representatives). This makes the process of learning more about your representatives easier than ever before.

We like GovIt because it not only encourages you to become more knowledgable about issues that matter to you, but it allows you to interact with other members, encouraging your friends to get involved in the political process as well. You can also either send your vote or compose a message to send to your political representative directly through the site. All in all, GovIt is a great way to learn more about your representatives as well as an excellent place to interact with others about the political process.
