Remindo – Create a Company Intranet

Big businesses run more efficiently with the help of company-wide intranets, and now thanks to an application called Remindo, yours can too. Remindo is a web-based application that improves the way small and medium-sized companies communicate by giving employees access to powerful filing sharing, document storage, and project management tools without the high costs associated with most intranet systems.

Signing up for a Remindo company intranet is completely free, and creating a personalized URL and workspace system can be done within minutes. Like other project management tools, Remindo lets you invite coworkers to share in your projects, collaborate on calendars, and view important reminders and milestones. In addition, though, Remindo also offers a comprehensive instant messaging system that gives you instant coworker communication, along with Twitter-like status updates that allow you to continually see how your colleagues are doing with a particular project or client.

Similar to social networking websites, Remindo lets users create profiles with photos and status updates. The application also gives users the flexibility to link up with others outside of their company network, such as freelancers or clients. Thanks to its wide variety of features—and because Remindo is more than just a project management system or a social networking application—it is certainly a website we would recommend to any company looking for a more effective way to work online.

Practical Uses:

  • Communicate with coworkers through an online system
  • Share files and important documents
  • Post questions as a status message and receive responses from coworkers
  • Share calendars and stay informed as deadlines are approaching

Insider Tips:

  • Attach to-do lists to individual project milestones
  • Share files that are up to 200MB in size
  • Client privacy settings ensure individual messages remain secure and private

What we liked:

  • No limit on the number of projects or users from within a company
  • All communication and messages are archived for future reference
  • Ability to connect with outside clients through intranet system
  • Twitter-like status update function is helpful in a business setting

What we didn’t like:

  • Remindo was built for companies, which means it is not an ideal system for freelancers
