QuoteRobot – Incredibly Quick Quotes

QuoteRobot is an application that helps freelance web designers and coders create professional-looking quotes and proposals for would-be clients in a matter of minutes. With its drag and drop interface, auto complete features, PDF exporting tools, and acceptance notifications, users can start sending out price quotes and receiving feedback—and hopefully offer acceptances—almost immediately.

When you get a project offer from a client and a request for a price quote, just sign in to your QuoteRobot account and begin creating a new proposal. Choose the client from your list of contacts, or add a new client and save his information for future use. When you’re on the quote creator screen, you can use QuoteRobot’s integrated tools to drag separate boxes for the project title, scope, and pricing onto your proposal page. You’ll need to type your own information into each box you’ve dragged onto the page, entering details such as the project title, a description of services, timeline, and a price quote detailing how much you plan to charge. The application remembers the line items you’ve typed in previously, and offers to auto-complete text boxes when necessary. Once you click save, you can view a preview of the quote and send it directly through the site or download it as a PDF file to attach to a standard email.

After your clients have received your proposal, they can choose to accept it, reject it, or leave a comment underneath it with follow up questions they’d like answered before moving forward with the project. In a matter of minutes, web designers and coders can create multi-page proposals that look customized and professional. Even better, clients will never know that these proposals took only a matter of minutes to create.

Practical Uses:

  • Impress new clients by sending multi-page proposals
  • Quickly deliver a price quote to a potential client
  • Solicit feedback about your proposal to find out what you should change
  • Make a proposal with a timeline estimate that is as accurate as possible

Insider Tips:

  • Drag and drop the various proposal boxes to rearrange the order
  • Save contact information to make creating new proposals even easier in the future
  • Download proposals as PDF files and save on your desktop
  • Use auto complete tools to quickly fill in project tasks and prices

What we liked:

  • Proposals made with QuoteRobot are extensive, multiple page documents
  • Professional looking price quotes can be created and sent in just minutes
  • Allows clients to leave comment on the proposals directly
  • Stores all client contact information in one, centralized spot

What we didn’t like:

  • The application is really only aimed at web coders and designers, which means other types of freelancers won’t get as much benefit from using the site
