Finding information about a particular topic online is easy, it’s cutting through the clutter and drilling down to the useful and insightful content that can sometimes be a challenge. That’s where Curated.by comes into play. The continually evolving web-app lets users collect and organize various forms of online media into curated “bundles.” Users can then search by bundle, person, or topic to go directly to the best articles on the web.
Sign in with a Twitter account to begin using Curated.by, and then check out the news feed to view updates from any friends you follow on the service. By scrolling down through the news feed, you can also find a listing of the most popular bundles and see pictures of new “curators” who’ve recently joined the site. Click on the name of any bundle and you can start scrolling through the articles, videos, and tweets that have been embedded within it. To see even more articles on any given topic, click the tags at the top of the bundle to see similar groups. You can also use the search feature to find bundles that mention a specific keyword. To add your own two cents to any posting, just comment on an article that’s been posted or virtually add your approval by clicking “like.”
To make adding articles to Curated.by even easier, drag the Curated.by bookmarklet onto your bookmarks toolbar. The app also offers a Chrome extension for Twitter, which allows Chrome users to add a “curate” link alongside all the tweets they post. For anyone who’s tired of wading through piles of pointless content online in the hopes of finding a gem, Curated.by is an excellent resource that can make it easier to find the articles, tweets, and videos that actually matter.
