Headmagnet – Smarter Study Cards

Headmagnet is an online flashcard-building tool that gets inside the minds of its users. Students who use Headmagnet can create study lists, memorize material, and connect with classmates, just as they can with competing study applications. What makes Headmagnet unique is its prediction algorithm, which uses a constant stream of stats to predict which questions and memories its users will most quickly forget.

Connect with Headmagnet through Facebook or sign up for a free account by entering your email address. To help you get started, Headmagnet will create a handful of sample study lists that you can add to or edit to make all your own. Each list you create gets a name, description, and individual questions and answers. Keep adding questions and answers until your study list is complete, then click “Study Now” and get to work memorizing the correct responses. It’s up to you to give oral responses to the questions on the screen, and then let Headmagnet know whether or not you were right. Headmagnet gives you two study modes to choose from when you start a new study session: Question to answer, or answer to question. Not only can you select the length of your study session and the number of questions you plan on getting through, but Headmagnet also lets you choose what areas of your study list you want to focus on, what level of interactivity the lesson should have, and whether the lesson itself should be graded.

As time goes on and you spend more time studying, Headmagnet will get a better sense of how well you’ve memorized each study list. Using this information, the application will develop customized study sessions based on the material you’ve been weakest at memorizing over time.
