MockVault – Get the Go-Ahead From Clients

MockVault is a tool that designers can use to get their designs and mockups approved by clients. Rather than sending over basic PDFs or image files for review, designers who use MockVault can provide their clients with annotated mockups that provide room for comments and discussions.

To start impressing clients with your mockups, sign up for a free or paid MockVault account and upload your latest designs. From the dashboard page, you can view mockups by client or design, or see which projects your team is working on together. Click on the design you’d like to focus on today, then hit Edit, Delete, or New Version depending on what it is you need to do. MockVault keeps track of all the past versions of your digital designs, making it easy for you and your clients to view the progress of a particular project and return to a previous version if things start veering off course. When you’re confident in the design you’ve put together, send it to your client for feedback and approval. MockVault offers one-click approval, which means clients who are satisfied with the product you’ve put together can approve your designs with the click of a button.

Clients who aren’t quite ready to approve your designs can leave comments and notes on the mockups you send over, which you can respond to directly on the mockup page. These annotated notes are an excellent way to guide clients around your mockups and point out particular features or elements that shouldn’t be missed.

Practical Uses:

  • Get approval from a client on a new campaign you’re working on
  • Show clients the designs you’ve come up with for their websites
  • Collaborate with colleagues on an upcoming web design project
  • Make sure wishy-washy clients are happy with your progress before continuing on with a particular design

Insider Tips:

  • Users with paid accounts can use their own domains
  • Archived designs can be restored and viewed at any time
  • Companies can add their own logo to their viewing pages
  • Clients can view their designs without registering for an account

What we liked:

  • MockVault turns basic mockups into digital presentations
  • Teams can work together on their group designs
  • Designers and clients can keep their comments confined to their MockVault design page to prevent important messages from being lost
  • New users can sign up for a free 14-day trial

What we didn’t like:

  • Users with free accounts can only upload one design
