Jolicloud – An All-Access Internet Pass

ss-jolicloud

Imagine being able to listen to the music you’ve posted to SoundCloud, watch the videos you uploaded to YouTube, and work on the documents you’ve stored in Google Drive without having to log into and out of multiple applications. Jolicloud does just that, offering people a way to take control of their digital lives by centralizing their online storage.

Connect whichever social networking, media playing, or file storage sites you currently use to your Jolicloud account. Jolicloud connects with dozens upon dozens of services, including Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr, Instagram, Dropbox, and Slideshare. The services you’ve connected with will show up in a list on the left-hand side of the Jolicloud dashboard. Click on any service to access all the files you’ve saved. You can browse through files, and in some cases, even edit those files from within the Jolicloud system. Jolicloud works just as well on tablets and smartphones as it does on desktop computers, which means you can quickly access any of your files regardless of the device you’re currently using.

Jolicloud can save you time and frustration, as any who’s ever forgotten his login for an infrequently used app can attest. It can also help your browser run more quickly, by allowing you to access files from multiple applications without openings dozens of browser tabs.

Practical Uses:

  • Save time by using one login to access files saved in multiple clouds
  • Show off your Facebook photos without logging into the social network
  • Keep your files accessible even if the app they’re saved in goes out of business
  • Access Dropbox files from your smartphone

Insider Tips:

  • The more apps you connect to, the more useful Jolicloud becomes
  • Jolicloud is built on HTML5 and Open Web technologies
  • Connect with friends on Facebook through the Jolicloud platform
  • Developers can hook up their apps by using the Jolicloud Open Platform

What we liked:

  • Jolicloud helps people keep up with everything they’ve “liked” or shared
  • Users don’t have to remember their logins and passwords for multiple apps
  • People can use various social networks without actually visiting those sites
  • The Jolicloud interface is more streamlined and easy to understand than many of the web-apps it connects to

What we didn’t like:

  • Jolicloud doesn’t connect to all the apps that people use on a regular basis
  • It can sometimes take a few seconds for Jolicloud to load a list of available files from certain connected apps, like Google Drive
