Stepsie – Making Projects Happen

ss-stepsie
Most big projects are made up of many small steps. Stepsie is a web-based application that people can use to bring disconnected tasks together for better project management. By decreasing the obstacles that organizations face when managing large projects, Stepsie is making it easier for people to realize their ideas.

Stepsie is designed using a step concept. Projects are organized into key elements, called steps, and within each step are discussions, tasks, and files. Create a new project, invite your team members to participate, and create your first step. Each step should be given a name, description, and a due date, and it should include all the individual tasks necessary to complete that step. You can also create group discussions and upload files to get feedback on your ideas. Steps can be managed from the dashboard page, allowing you to assign tasks to specific employees with just a few clicks. As you finish each step, you get closer to completing your overall project.

By grouping key elements together within steps, Stepsie has developed a way for teams to maintain logical structure when organizing projects of all sizes. The platform itself includes a number of useful features, including global project alerts, notification emails, and filters that people can use to quickly pinpoint the information they need.

Practical Uses:

  • Organize a large project into multiple steps
  • Share important Word files with colleagues
  • Create a discussion to see what people think of an upcoming project
  • Keep all company communication in a centralized location that’s easy to search

Insider Tips:

  • Only users who’ve been given “admin” authority can create new projects
  • Archive completed projects for future reference
  • Users can access their content for 6 months after cancelling their accounts
  • People can’t remove themselves from projects unless they have the appropriate authority to do so

What we liked:

  • Group discussions are contained in one place, making it easy for people to look back on conversations for future reference
  • Users can make certain steps private, while keeping other steps visible to the group
  • Keyword searches allow users to quickly find the information they need
  • Notification emails are a great way to stay updated on the status of a project without logging in to Stepsie

What we didn’t like:

  • Users are limited in the amount of storage they have access to
