Wiser – Social News-Reading for Teams

ss-wiser
Wiser is an application that provides organizations with tools for media monitoring, business intelligence, issue development, and workgroup engagement. The web-based solution helps its users find and distribute information in a way that falls somewhere in between “private social layer” and “professional-grade recommendation engine.”

Start discovering, distributing, and acting on the relevant information and content that your organization relies on by signing up for a Wiser account. Each morning, you and the rest of your colleagues will receive an email digest that includes all the latest news based on the content that your team has submitted to Wiser the previous day. See which articles are trending within your organization, and leave personal comments or feedback on anything that your colleagues have submitted.

Groups that sign up for Team accounts are also able to leverage Wiser’s social news-reading platform and intelligence engine. The intelligence engine automatically recommends content based on an organization’s preferred topics, sources and keywords. Larger teams can even have custom content consultations with Wiser’s knowledge team to discover new ways to get added value from the platform.

Practical Uses:

  • Get an email summary of the day’s top industry news articles
  • See which content is gaining the most traction within your organization
  • Receive a list of recommended articles based on your preferred topics or keywords
  • Follow the articles that your favorite colleagues are recommending

Insider Tips:

  • Use the @Mention feature to flag important articles for specific colleagues
  • Create smaller groups within a team Wiser account
  • Follow topics, sources, and keywords within Wiser to power your Recommended feed
  • Add tags to articles for quick retrieval

What we liked:

  • Wiser helps organizations save time compiling relevant news articles each day
  • Professionals can stay up-to-date on industry news
  • Wiser easily fits into most teams’ existing workflows
  • People can comment on the articles being recommended by their colleagues

What we didn’t like:

  • The Wiser intelligence engine is only available to users with paid plans
  • At $499 per month, the Organization plans is too expensive for many businesses
