Pixelapse – Visual Workspaces

ss-pixelapse
Pixelapse is a web-based application that provides private workspaces for designers. With visual version control and collaboration workflows, Pixelapse enables individuals to bring colleagues and clients the real-time conversations.

Install the Pixelapse app on your desktop, and start placing your design files into the Pixelapse folder. Files in your Pixelapse folder are synced to the app in real-time, and they’re encrypted for private storage. When you’re ready to share a design with a boss, client, or colleague, just share the project and add highlighted annotations around any specific points you have questions about. Pixelapse lets you assign annotations to colleagues, which allows you to designate responsibilities without using a separate project management application. You can compare previous design iterations to the current version using Pixelapse’s revision timeline, and generate previews in any number of formats.

Pixelapse ensures that designers never miss out on important conversations by implementing real-time notification emails that go out whenever a user’s projects are discussed. Among the platform’s other useful benefits are infinite backups, inline annotations, and granular permissions that allow users to control who can access which of their projects at any point in time.

Practical Uses:

  • Create inline annotations to solicit feedback on a work project
  • Save every version of a recent design
  • Control which colleagues can access a design you’re working on
  • Visually compare multiple changes to a design

Insider Tips:

  • Record notes next to specific project milestones
  • Integrate Pixelapse will Dropbox
  • Scroll through the revision timeline to see every past version of a project
  • Mark a conversation as “resolved” when it has been handled completely
