Barley – Simple Web Editing

ss-getbarley
Setting up and editing a basic website shouldn’t require extensive HTML skills or technical expertise. Barley is a web editor that takes this ethos to a whole new level, providing people and businesses with extremely simplified tools for creating sleek, sophisticated, straightforward websites.

Chefs, photographers, bloggers, realtors, and other professionals can set up and manage their own business websites with Barley. Just choose a template that fits in with your company’s aesthetics, and use Barley’s editing tools to customize that template from your browser. You can choose whether to make your new website active or inactive. Inactive sites are free to create and they can be edited as much as you like, but they will not be visible to the public until they’re marked as active. Reorder the pages on your inactive or active website based on what works for your company, and add bonus features like galleries, blog posts, podcasts, menus, and virtually any other element with just a few quick clicks. You can use the drag and drop interface to upload files, or add them directly from connected services like Dropbox, Flickr, Instagram, and Facebook.

People who use Barley can manage multiple websites, and they can sync their templates with Dropbox. The basic online web editor offers users an unlimited amount of storage, unlimited pages, and unlimited updates for a flat fee of $18 per month.

Comments

  1. Thanks for covering Barley Stephanie.

Since a lot has happened since October I thought I’d leave a comment. First, Barley is now $12 a month, down from $18. And our Barley Editor is now available as a WordPress plugin, as a Drupal Module, and can also be built into any web application. So we’ve come a long way!

Also, I appreciate the “What we didn’t like” section of your post. We appreciate the feedback. Something that may interest you, though, is that 95% of our customers don’t come close to that 350,000 pageview, per month, mark. So while that may look like a limitation – it is a pretty great deal.

    Thanks again!
