Checkthis – The Quickest Way to Publish Online

You’ve got breaking news or important information that needs to be shared, and Checkthis has an incredibly fast way for you to share it. Checkthis is an instant publishing application that people can use to post all the content they can’t fit into a typical status update on Facebook or Twitter.

Checkthis isn’t a blogging platform and it isn’t a social network. Instead, Checkthis truly is a straightforward application that’s as simple as it sounds. To post your own project, conversation log, promotional materials, or holiday plans online, just head to Checkthis.com and follow the directions displayed on the screen. Create a page title, and then start entering the content you want to share. To add additional content, click the green + button. You can immediately upload images, videos, maps, audio clips, tweets, website links, and even special payment and polling apps to your page. Adjust the page “style” to fit your aesthetic—choosing between book, modern, classic, artsy, and simple—and hit the “Preview” button to see what you’ve made. When you’re happy with the overall look, you can click “Publish” and Checkthis will provide you with a custom link that you can share with all your friends.

Although Checkthis is intentionally bare bones when it comes to options and features—you don’t even have to sign up for an account unless you want to—the application does offer a handful of customization tools under the “Preferences” tab. Users can choose a vanity URL and a page title, and they can decide whether their pages should be made public or kept private. Checkthis also lets users decide when the pages they have created should expire, choosing between never, one week, and one month.

Practical Uses:

  • Post a copy of your school project online
  • Publish a transcript of a recent telephone conversation
