Raindrop.io – A Smarter Bookmarking Tool

ss-raindrop
Raindrop.io is a “smart” bookmarking tool that people can use to pull together content from a wide variety of sources. The web-based application automatically senses the type of page that a user is trying to save, and then files the link together with associated types of content.

When you register for a Raindrop.io account and install the browser extension, you’re able to quickly save all different types of web content in one place. For example, links, articles, videos, images, and presentations can all be saved in your Raindrop.io account with a few clicks. Raindrop.io has been developed to automatically recognize whatever type of page you’re saving, which makes it easy for content to be organized into “thematic collections.” You can organize your collections by manually adding tags, and you can also drag and drop bookmarks between various collections.

When it comes time to pull up the content you’ve saved in your collections, search by tag or keyword. Raindrop.io’s “smart search” feature searches any criteria contained in a bookmark, including titles, descriptions, sites, tags, and page types. Raindrop.io also offers an interesting subscription feature, which enables users to subscribe to collections being saved by other Raindrop.io users.
