Nvest – Share Stock Recommendations

ss-nvest
Think you’re the next Warren Buffett? Prove it. With Nvest, you can share your personal stock recommendations with strangers online and have your predictions tracked and evaluated to see how well they perform over time.

Nvest is a web-based platform where people can share investing advice and stock recommendations, while also learning from the wisdom of their friends at the same time. Create an account to start making your own recommendations on Nvest. Those recommendations will show up in other users’ feeds. These other users have the option to publicly agree or disagree with your stock tips, and to share their own thoughts and ideas in the commenting area directly below your own advice. The better your recommendations, the more people will sign up to “follow” you on Nvest. Other users can view your published profile information, along with key performance statistics.

Nvest recently introduced an advanced financial modeling feature, which is available to users for free. This feature eliminates the need for data crunching on spreadsheets, allowing investing enthusiasts to check up on more than 3,000 companies through Nvest’s asset pricing model.

Practical Uses:

  • Share your stock recommendations with followers online
  • Access advanced financial models
  • Get financial advice from anonymous Nvest users
  • Follow users who have a track record of investing success

Insider Tips:

  • Review other users’ portfolio distributions
  • Pose your own questions to users who make recommendations that seem off base
  • Click on a user’s profile to see all of that person’s past recommendations
  • View the realized returns for each user with an Nvest profile

What we liked:

  • Nvest shows the actual returns that users saw based on their recommendations
  • Nvest is a fun way for people to research stocks that they may want to buy
  • Users can agree or disagree with the recommendations made by other users
  • Nvest’s financial modeling tools are available for free

What we didn’t like:

  • Some people may place too much trust in the anonymous users they follow on Nvest
  • Nvest will become more useful as its user base grows
