Hive bills itself as the first unlimited cloud service in the world. The ad-supported personal storage solution handles all different types of digital files, including music collections, video libraries, text documents, and high-resolution images.
With Hive, you can free up space on your hard drive and start saving your files in the cloud. Add a profile photo to your account to make it easier for your friends to identify you when sharing content. From there, you can immediately begin adding files to your personal “hive.” You can upload files to Hive from any device, or you can paste a URL and Hive will grab the file and save it in your account. Group similar files into folders and then setup access levels on a folder-by-folder basis. Multiple privacy options allow you to share certain folders with your entire friends list, while still keeping certain documents completely private and away from public view.
Although free Hive accounts are supported by ads, users do have the option of making their accounts ad-free by signing up for the Premium service. Along with the ad-free interface, Premium accounts come with HD streaming. As an added benefit, the cost of a Premium account decreases as more of a user’s friends sign up for their own accounts.
